Voted a top doctor in Baltimore five years in a row by Baltimore Magazine, Dr. James E. Vogel is regarded as both a highly professional and accommodating physician. Dr. Vogel began his professional career at Bowdoin College in Maine, majoring in biochemistry. After receiving his undergraduate degree, Dr. Vogel attended the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York. He underwent general surgery residency at both Tufts New England Medical Center (Boston) and the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.
After completing residencies, Dr. Vogel moved forward with a plastic surgery residency at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. In Baltimore, he learned maxillo-facial and microvascular surgical training which eventually spurred his career as a leading Baltimore-based plastic surgeon.
Dr. Vogel is an Associate Professor in the plastic surgery division at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine Department of Surgery. Here he teaches medical students and residents the fundamentals of plastic surgery, plus shares the innovative and modern technologies for improving cosmetic appearance.
Dr. Vogel is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, Baltimore County Medical Society and the Johns Hopkins Medical Society, among others. He is currently a member of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery.
