Battery Operation

Can I start using the cap immediately or do I need to charge it first?

Although the battery does have some charge initially, to optimize battery life and assure sufficient charge for use, we recommend charging the pack for a full 24 hours before first use. After the initial charge, please charge the Battery Pack only when final light is blinking.

How do I know when to charge my cap?

Do I need to unplug the charging cable or can I leave it plugged in when I use the cap?

The Capillus laser device will not operate if the battery pack is connected to the AC adapter. Operating the cap from the wall outlet will damage your cap and this is not covered under warranty.

I’m holding the cap and pressing the power button but the cap doesn’t turn on. Why?

There is a sensor on the inside of the device that only allows light to be emitted when the cap is on the head. As an eye safety precaution, if the device is not on your head when you turn it on, the lasers will not stay on. When you place the cap on your head, the sensors are triggered, and the laser dome will turn on.

Should I hold the power button to turn on the cap?

Place the laser dome on your head and simply TAP (do not "hold") the power button to begin treatment. This is also demonstrated in a video titled “How to turn your Capillus Cap on & off.Visit www.capillus.com and click the YouTube icon located in the top right corner of the site.

My cap won’t turn on at all. What are some of the reasons?

If the battery pack is on but the cap is not turning on, check the following:

  • Sensor: There is a sensor in the cap that only allows light to be emitted when the cap is on your head.
  • Secure Connection: Check connection between cap and battery pack.
  • Battery Level: Check your battery charge level or charge battery.

If your battery pack is not turning on, review the following:

  • Ensure that you are not holding the “on” button down too long. Just a TAP on the button for on and a longer hold for off.
  • Make sure your battery is charged.
