Quick Start Guide


UNPACK COMPONENTS

Make sure all parts are present according to the diagram on page 5 of your manual.

WARRANTY REGISTRATION

Activate your warranty by visiting www.capillus.com/warranty. Have handy your purchase information including price, date of purchase and seller as well as your serial number (located on outside of box and on the rear of the laser device, under the sports cap). Refer to page 7 of your manual for warranty details.

FULLY CHARGE BATTERY OVERNIGHT BEFORE FIRST USE

Refer to page 5 of your manual for instructions on how to charge the device. We recommend charging overnight before first use.

JUST TAP TO POWER ON AND PRESS AND HOLD TO POWER OFF

Place the laser dome on your head and simply tap the power button to begin treatment. When treatment is over 6 minutes later, press and hold the power button until all lights on the battery pack turn off. The CapillusRX battery turns off automatically and does not require this step.

THINGS TO KNOW

The cap won’t turn on unless it is placed on your head. Should you hear continuous beeping during treatment it may be an indication that treatment has been disrupted. Refer to page 6 of your manual for instructions for use.

STORAGE

In between sessions, store the device in the carrying case provided. Please disconnect the device from the battery to optimize battery life. Make sure it is kept in a safe, dry place and avoid extreme temperatures to prevent damage. Refer to page 7 of your manual for storage information details.

TRAVEL

Use the lightweight carrying case that protects your device for storage and travel. A universal AC adapter with interchangeable input plugs is included so you can recharge your portable battery pack when traveling abroad. We recommend you carry-on the device with you. If you decide to check in the device, please keep the battery pack on the plane with you. Because the battery pack contains a lithiumion battery, it cannot be checked in with baggage per TSA restrictions.

CLEANING YOUR DEVICE

Make sure all the cables are disconnected before cleaning. Wipe the cap with an alcohol wipe or a water moistened cloth and pat dry. Refer to page 7 of your manual for further instructions.

DID YOU KNOW YOU CAN USE THE DEVICE WITH OTHER HATS?

Simply, remove the device from the provided sports hat (the dome should slip out easily) and choose an alternate cap the same size as the cap provided. The hat should have an open back for the battery cord to pass through. If the hat or cap of your choice does not have an opening in the back, you can create a slit in order to pass the battery cord through. Finally, insert the dome into the cap and pass the cord through the slit.

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM CAPILLUS LASER THERAPY

Laser hair restoration works but is a gradual process that requires patience. Capillus laser therapy works by reversing the natural process of miniaturization. Miniaturization occurs as the hair follicle weakens with each hair cycle, producing increasingly thinner hair until the follicle dies and ceases to produce hair. Laser therapy has been shown to be effective in reversing miniaturization by stimulating and energizing the scalp cells and increasing blood supply to the hair follicle. This allows the follicle to remain viable and capable of producing thicker, healthier hair.

Please keep in mind that you need time to evaluate the treatment. If you are complying with the instructions for use and regularly using your device 6 minutes every day, you should expect to see some results within 6 months.

GENERAL TIMELINE OF RESULTS

The following is a general guideline of what to expect in your hair restoration journey.

0-3 Months: Hair loss should begin to stabilize within the first months of treatment. You may not notice any visible changes on the surface, however changes are occurring below the surface. During this time, laser therapy is restoring the health of the follicle that is responsible for producing healthier strands of hair. The follicle stimulation may accelerate shedding of weaker strands of hair to make way for new strands of thicker, healthier hair. Some users may notice more shedding due to this phenomenon. If you do experience shedding, don’t worry, it’s a good sign. You may experience some itchiness as the new hair starts to grow and that is also normal.

3–6 Months: Next, you will begin to notice a decrease in hair loss. After the first few weeks of using your device according to the instructions, you will notice that hair is not shedding as much as previously. Do not be discouraged if you don’t see significant change. Keep in mind that preventing progression of hair loss is in itself a success. You may notice your hair is slightly fuller in the area where you had noticed thinning.

12 Months: This is the time to evaluate the results of laser therapy. We recommend you take another set of pictures and compare to those you took at the beginning.

24 Months +: This is when you should see the greatest, most impactful results. Expect to see the most you can get from Capillus laser therapy at this point. As long as you continue to comply with laser therapy, you should maintain a fuller head of hair and cessation of hair loss.

Timeline

Androgenetic Alopecia is a progressive, lifelong condition; thus Capillus laser therapy is intended to be used indefinitely unless otherwise prescribed by a physician. As long as you continue to comply with laser therapy, you should maintain a fuller head of hair and prevent progression of hair loss. Laser hair restoration works but it is a gradual process. Be patient and adhere to the daily treatments to notice results as per above.
