Is Capillus Right for You?

If your hair loss is due to heredity, Capillus laser therapy may be a great treatment option for you. Hair loss is a serious issue that affects millions of men and women around the world. The most common type of hair loss is a result of your genes: androgenetic alopecia (pattern baldness). It’s a progressive condition (worsens over time) and constitutes up to 98% of hair loss. If you begin treatment during the earlier stages of progression, Capillus laser therapy may stop further progression and help regrow your thinning hair.

Capillus is intended for treatment of adults with hair loss represented within the shaded areas below:

FDA CLEARANCE STATEMENT: Intended to treat Androgenetic Alopecia (AGA) and promote hair growth in males who have Norwood Hamilton Classifications of II-a to V patterns of hair loss; and females who have Ludwig (Savin) scale Classifications Class 1-ll, or frontal patterns of hair loss; both with Fitzpatrick Skin Types l to lV.
When it comes to treating hair loss, men and women have a variety of options from which to choose. Some are legitimate. Others are not. With so much misinformation surrounding the topic of hair loss and restoration online, it’s vital that patients know who and what they can trust. At Capillus®, we help patients find safe, reliable, and effective hair loss treatments by focusing on two important questions:
    1. Which treatment type is right for you?
    2. Are your expectations reasonable for stopping hair loss?

Which treatment is right for you?

Treatments must be used as instructed in order to be effective. When searching for a hair loss treatment that is right for you, first take a moment to consider how your lifestyle might limit your ability to follow through with treatment on a regular basis. Consider the pros and cons of some of the following well-known hair loss treatments:

Are your expectations reasonable for stopping hair loss?

Anyone can sell you a magic potion that claims to make your hair grow back. With Capillus®, our physicians give you a realistic outlook of what you may be able to expect based on your hair history and your treatment protocol. If your head is completely bald, it might be too late in the process for hair regrowth. If you are in an early stage of hair loss, your odds of hair restoration are much better.

Laser therapy has been shown to slow, stop, and possibly reverse hair loss by improving the health of existing hair. It is not a cure for baldness and will only work as long as it is used according to instructions and during the treatment period. Once laser therapy stops, so does the cessation of the hair loss. It is important to keep your expectations realistic. Maintenance is a very important part of treatment. In any hair restoration treatment, it is normal for users to have an initial period of hair shedding before they can begin to see any results. Shedding is an indicator that the treatment is working. In order to begin seeing results, we recommend following the protocol for a period of at least 6 months. You may be able to see benefits more visibly as the year progresses. Laser has been shown also to strengthen existing hair.
